A Chronicle in Time

I sure have a lot of backtracking to do! I’m currently ending the 7th month of my stay (Wow, time has flown by!) and James is 18 months old.

I plan on consistently updating this post as things come to me, so bare with me for a while. The breakdown of memories corresponds to baby’s age, rather than how long I’ve been here. It help me remember better.

12 Months : Approx. June 11 - July 13th

I started just a few days before James turned 1 Year Old. I didn’t attend his birthday party, although I was invited. On move in day, I felt pretty sick (Aunt Flo had come to visit) and all I wanted to do was sleep. Instead, Katherine gave me a driving tour of the area and I remembered nothing except thinking how much city driving sucks.

13 Months : July 14 - August 13

14 Months : Aug 14 - Sept 13

15 Months : September 14 - Oct 13

16 Months : October 14 - Nov 13

Halloween: James was a giraffe (I picked out the outfit!) and I was a stoplight. Katherine had to work that day, and didn’t get to go trick-or-treating with Leo and I (although we only went to like 5 houses). Later I found out she re-dressed them all a few days later, took pictures, and acted like it was Halloween. This is the kind of stuff that creates false memories. Whether that’s good or bad—I’m not sure.

17 Months : Nov 14 - Dec 13

18 Months : December 14, 2008 - Jan 13, 2009

It’s hard to believe James is a Year and a Half. He has come so far from when I first moved in. My relationship with Katherine and Scott has also had its ups and downs.

I got lots and lots of cute stuff for James for Hannukah/Christmas (he celebrates both). Two books, an outfit, socks, other things I can’t remember now. I’ll expand on this later. My mom got him a book about trucks that makes noises because he’s currently obsessed with trucks. She also bought these gloves off me that I had gotten for him. My dad scored this awesome (free) baby baseball glove from Made in NJ Day at his work. Katherine and Scott got me something very thoughtful—a membership for 1 class of my choosing at a local “school”. Hope gave me these cute pink aromatherapy socks, while I gave her just a card with a cute picture of her and James from Halloween. Man, I love mommom.

Today = 12/28/08 - James is half way to 19 months. I just returned from x-mas vacation, which I spent in Jersey. I fell asleep around 830 because, frankly, I had nothing else to do. But Katherine must’ve gotten drunk and left the stereo BLASTING downstairs. It woke me up around 1230 and of course, at 412 am, I couldn’t fall back asleep. I was pretty pissed. It’s called common courtesy (a recurring theme).

I didn’t hear Leo come home from the ER, so I’m hoping that it was after I went downstairs to shut the damned thing off. I think this time, I’ll just let it all slide…but if it happens again, shit may hit the fan.
